1. Trang An Boat Tour
A UNESCO World Heritage site. You sit on a boat and float through rivers, limestone caves, and ancient temples. The scenery is stunning and very peaceful.
2. Tam Coc & Bich Dong Pagoda
Tam Coc is often called the “Ha Long Bay on land.” A boat ride here takes you past rice fields and through three natural caves. Close by is Bich Dong Pagoda, a temple built into the mountainside with nice views.
3. Hang Mua (Mua Cave) Viewpoint
You’ll climb about 500 steps to reach the top, but the view is one of the most beautiful in Vietnam — rice paddies, winding rivers, and karst mountains stretching as far as you can see. Best at sunrise or sunset.
4. Bai Dinh Pagoda
One of the largest Buddhist temple complexes in Southeast Asia. It has massive statues, long corridors lined with Buddha figures, and a peaceful atmosphere.
5. Hoa Lu Ancient Capital
The old capital of Vietnam, with temples dedicated to ancient kings. It’s a small but important historical site where you can feel the country’s deep history.
6. Cuc Phuong National Park
Vietnam’s first national park. Perfect if you enjoy hiking, nature, and wildlife. You’ll find ancient trees, butterflies, and sometimes monkeys.
7. Phat Diem Cathedral
A unique church built in a mix of Vietnamese and European styles. It’s very different from typical cathedrals and worth a visit for the architecture.
Cycling through villages – Rent a bike and explore the rice fields, rivers, and small rural villages. This is the best way to enjoy the countryside.
Van Long Nature Reserve – A quieter version of Trang An and Tam Coc. Great for bird watching and peaceful boat rides.
Thung Nham Bird Valley – A beautiful spot to see birds and enjoy nature away from the main tourist areas.
👉 Ninh Binh is best enjoyed slowly. Early mornings are the most magical time, especially for boat rides or climbing Hang Mua before the crowds arrive.
